Creating a Sales Order

Choosing a client

  • Start with the client AutoFill? field. As you type, it will find active clients (not prospects) who matched your typed criteria. The Search criteria follows this format:
Lastname, Firstname (Company)

-or-

Company

Client Search Examples

Lets say we type the letter 'B' in the client field.

Typing the letter 'B' will find all active clients whose last name starts with the letter 'B' or, if they do not have a last name, whose company starts with the Letter 'B'.

It will not find clients whose firstname starts with the letter 'B', or clients who have a last name that starts with the letter 'B' but whose company name starts with the letter 'B'

If you want to find clients that have the letter 'B' anywhere in any part of the first name, lastname or company name, begin your client search using the wild card character '%'.

  • After choosing a client, phpBMS will auto-populate the address. If the client is setup with order defaults, the discount, tax, shipping method, and payment method will also be set.

Adding Line Items

The line item section is where you enter products/services and quantities for the order.

Line Item Example

  • Use the part number or name AuotoFill? fields to choose a product (or leave the product blank)
  • If you chose a product, phpBMS should fill in the default description (if any) in the memo field, and the default sell price for the product.
  • You can change or update the memo field, the sell price, and quantity fields manually.
  • The line item extended field is automatically calculated for you.
  • Click the add line item button source:trunk/phpbms/common/stylesheet/mozilla/image/button-plus.png to add the line item to the order.
