User Roles

User Roles allows administrators to restrict scope and responsibilities by specifically allowing/disallowing menu items, including what screens users can view, what columns and search items they can see, and what functions they have access. If your operations involves a number of employees/workers, then this section must be given due priority. If you are one or two man operation, then it is still suggested you read through this section quickly.

phpBMS installs with a set of suggested user roles. You can assign roles to a specific user through the user add/edit screen, or assign a role to multiple users through the roles add/edit screen

The 'roles' section is accessible by selecting Settings followed by Roles.

You should see a screen like the one below:

The familiar interface allows add, edit, print and many other functionalities. As in PhpBMS conventions, a role cannot be deleted once it is created. This is to ensure database integrity and dependency. You can only "inactivate" any given role. PhpBMS allows you to mask inactive records in order to enhance usability.
